Constructionism (Bleak)
I have this outlook when it comes to art, that anything can be art if the right person is looking at it. This kind of makes artists of us all, which isn't a very popular belief. But it is this idea that has drawn me to some really abstract pieces in my life. I read about this idea of Constructionism, which is a theory by a guy called Seymour Papert of the MIT Media Lab. He says that it is a theory that holds that children learn best when they are in the active role of the designer and constructor. It is also the idea that this happens especially when you are fully and consciously engaged in creating something. I LOVE abstract pieces because I look at it as learning about the process from creating, rather than the final product of what was created. I've had a theory for a loooong time: "Learn by doing'." And this is kind of the embodiment of that idea.
